North Florida Medical Services, located in Mandarin/Jacksonville, FL, is a growing management services organization that provides revenue cycle services to multiple surgical group practices. The company is seeking a Coding Auditor to conduct quality reviews of both clinical and non-clinical professionals.
The role focuses on process effectiveness, continuous improvement, quality, and ongoing education for providers and staff on coding matters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working with the Coding and Compliance Manager to schedule and conduct focused retrospective quality reviews of physicians, mid-level providers, and internal/external coders
- Ensuring coding accuracy is monitored and education is provided based on review results
- Preparing reports for management review and identifying trends
- Completing reviews in a timely and routine manner and presenting results and feedback to the appropriate personnel
- Assisting with the development of educational materials for annual diagnosis and procedural coding updates, documentation and coding tips, and coding guidelines
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Evaluation and Management and surgical coding, as well as coding guidelines
- Experience with professional inpatient and outpatient medical coding and billing
- Minimum of 2 years of professional inpatient and outpatient medical auditing
- Senior Coding Quality Auditor requires a minimum of 3 years of professional inpatient and outpatient medical auditing
- CPC or CCS-P required
- Must obtain the CPMA credential within the first 12 months of employment; Senior Coding Quality Auditor must already hold the CPMA credential
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a healthcare field preferred but not required
- High school diploma required
