This role is responsible for resolving insurance processing errors, claim denials, and billing issues for hospital and physician billing accounts. The position focuses on accurate payment posting, reconciliation, and supporting timely reimbursement while maintaining strong customer service and compliance standards.
Remote position with schedule options in Central Time or Pacific Time.
Requirements & Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of medical insurance payment posting experience in a healthcare billing or revenue cycle environment
- Experience interpreting and applying EOBs and ERAs
- Experience reconciling payments, deposits, and posting variances
- Knowledge of contractual adjustments, payment reconciliation, and cash balancing processes
- Experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
- Proficiency with EMR systems, billing systems, and payer portals
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a production-focused environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Epic experience strongly preferred
- Experience with Hospital Billing (HB) and Professional Billing (PB)
- Experience posting payments for multiple specialties or healthcare facilities
- Experience with California payers
- Experience with HealthQuest, Experian, Waystar, NextGen, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of underpayment analysis, overpayment recovery, and unapplied cash resolution
