Rheumatology medical practice serving the East Bay community is seeking an experienced Healthcare Billing Specialist to support revenue cycle operations, billing, claims submission, payment posting, and collections. The role works in person at the San Leandro clinic and supports both patient and payer billing workflows in a fast-paced medical office environment.
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
- 10 years of related experience in medical insurance billing
- Medical coding experience required
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems; Epic experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of revenue cycle management and coordination of benefits
- Ability to submit claims electronically and by paper
- Experience with eligibility verification, denial follow-up, and AR aging
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Experience
- Medical insurance billing: 5 years required
- EPIC EMR/EHR: 2 years preferred
