We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented medical biller/coder to join a growing practice on a part-time basis. The role focuses on accurate medical billing, coding, claims submission, and follow-up in a patient-focused office.
Responsibilities include verifying insurance eligibility and benefits, reviewing and coding claims, resolving denials and payment issues, posting payments and adjustments, preparing patient statements, and maintaining accurate billing records. The position also involves communicating with insurance carriers, patients, and office staff to resolve billing questions and ensure compliance with payer requirements and billing regulations.
This is an in-person position with a flexible schedule of 16–25 hours per week.
- Previous experience in medical billing and coding
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Understanding of PIP and Medicare reimbursement processes
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- CPC or CPC-A certification preferred
- Experience with personal injury billing and reimbursement preferred
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Medical billing experience: 1 year preferred
- PIP insurance experience: 1 year preferred
