At American Vision Partners, the Certified Coder supports ophthalmology practices by assigning ICD-10 diagnosis codes and CPT procedure codes for physician professional services and ambulatory surgical center charges.
This role is onsite and focused on accurate charge capture, revenue optimization, and compliance with CMS and coding guidelines. The coder works closely with clinic and department teams to ensure services are properly documented, coded, and billed.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
- 5+ years of medical billing or coding experience
- Ophthalmology coding experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of CMS guidelines, contracted insurance guidelines, and coding policies
- Strong computer literacy, math skills, and communication skills
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
