Requirements & Qualifications
Certified Medical Billing Specialist from an accredited organization is required.
- Proven experience in medical billing
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding practices
- Familiarity with EMR and EHR systems
- Knowledge of medical records management, insurance processes, and healthcare reimbursement procedures
- Experience handling medical collections and resolving claim discrepancies
- Prior work in a medical office environment preferred
- Ongoing education in ICD coding updates is valued
- Experience with prior authorizations for GI procedures preferred
- Knowledge of payer-specific billing requirements preferred
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
