Heritage Health is seeking a full-time Medical Coder to join the Pediatrics office in an onsite role. The position supports collaboration and real-time problem solving with the care team.
The coder will review and assign accurate medical codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services performed by physicians and other qualified healthcare providers. This role reports to the Director of Revenue Cycle and is part of the Patient Centered Medical Home care team.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree in medical coding or related field preferred
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential required
- AAPC credential preferred
- One year of FQHC medical billing and/or coding experience preferred
- Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes and basic medical terminology
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentiality
