Responsibilities

Review medical records and documentation to assign appropriate CPT codes for procedures and services
Use ICD-10 coding systems to identify patient diagnoses and conditions accurately
Prepare and submit insurance claims using EMR/EHR systems
Follow up on unpaid or rejected claims using effective medical collection strategies
Stay current on changes in medical coding standards, insurance policies, and billing regulations
Audit daily charges for accurate procedures, diagnoses, and modifiers
Reconcile daily manifests against charge entry reports to ensure all services are captured
Balance daily payment batches and process deposits according to financial procedures

Qualifications

CPC certification preferred
3-4 years of related healthcare experience
Strong knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding systems
Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare documentation standards
Experience with EMR/EHR and practice management systems
Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret complex medical information accurately
Strong understanding of insurance plans and benefits, including PPO, HMO, POS, EPO, Indemnity, and Marketplace Exchange products
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Ability to keyboard 40 WPM and proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
