The Supervisor LPG Physician Coding provides day-to-day operational and technical leadership for professional (physician) coding functions supporting the Lee Physician Group (LPG). The supervisor is responsible for supervising physician coders, ensuring accurate and compliant ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and E/M coding, CMS and AMA compliance, and knowledge of payer-specific policies, while supporting quality documentation practices.
This position partners closely with coding leadership, education, compliance, and practice operations to support coding quality, productivity, revenue integrity, and regulatory compliance.
Education: Associate degree in Health Information Management or related field required. Three years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional physician coding experience required, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
Certification: Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), RHIT, RHIA, or equivalent required.
Other: Proficient with coding software and EMR. Demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Consistently demonstrates integrity and strong attention to detail and vision that supports growth and change.
