Billing Supervisor

Lead the revenue cycle management billing team for a specialized medical billing company serving substance abuse and behavioral health providers.

This role owns billing accuracy and performance from claim submission through reimbursement for a portfolio of behavioral health and substance abuse clients. You will supervise a blended onshore and offshore team, monitor KPI performance, and partner with providers and payers to resolve billing and coding issues.

The position is onsite in Fort Lauderdale, FL, with remote work potentially available for highly qualified candidates outside the local area.

Requirements & Qualifications

Required

  • 3–5 years of employee management or leadership experience
  • Hands-on experience in substance abuse, behavioral health, or mental health revenue cycle management
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding as applied to substance use disorder treatment
  • Familiarity with commercial, in-network, out-of-network, and government payer claim requirements
  • Experience with the full claims lifecycle, including unpaid and denied claims follow-up
  • Proficiency with healthcare billing software and EHR systems; KIPU and CollaborateMD experience required
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead, develop, and hold accountable onshore and offshore team members
  • Must be able to work onsite in Fort Lauderdale, FL, with remote work considered only for highly qualified candidates

Preferred

  • AAPC certification such as CPC, CPB, or similar
  • Experience with MAT billing, including methadone and buprenorphine programs
  • Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicare, and managed care plans for behavioral health
  • Experience with substance abuse treatment centers, detox facilities, or outpatient programs
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Business, or a related field preferred
  • AAPC or AHIMA certification preferred
