Work as a billing specialist supporting assigned payers and accounts from clean claim submission through payment resolution. Responsibilities include billing, rebilling and appeals, account resolution, denial management, payment posting, daily deposit processing, refunds, unclaimed funds, escheatment, and maintaining accurate files and general ledger records. The role also involves customer and client support in a trauma-informed approach and collaboration with internal staff, clients, and third-party payers to resolve billing issues and systemic problems. This position reports to the AR Supervisor and is hybrid, with on-site work in the Lafayette, CO office twice per week.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Post-high-school business training preferred.
Three years of recent accounts receivable and customer service experience in mental healthcare Medicaid billing and collections.
Experience should include computerized billing systems, cash receipts, private collections, Medicaid, Medicare, managed care, and/or traditional insurance.
Experience with the complete billing process for Medicaid in mental and behavioral health, including substance use disorders, is preferred.
Accuracy in posting payments, following up on rejections and denials, resolving billing failures and re-bills, and handling refunds and unclaimed funds is expected.
