Revenue Specialist, VA

EnableComp provides specialty revenue cycle management solutions for healthcare organizations, with a focus on complex claims and reimbursement across Veterans Administration, workers' compensation, motor vehicle accidents, out-of-state Medicaid, and denials for all payer classes.

This role serves as a liaison between key client contacts and the VA. The Revenue Specialist is responsible for handling protected health information (PHI) with strict attention to privacy and security while supporting accurate claims reimbursement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing and evaluating Veterans Administration claim payments using proprietary software and tools
  • Reviewing payment documentation to determine whether reimbursement complies with the applicable state fee schedule
  • Researching, requesting, and acquiring medical records and supporting documentation for hospital claims
  • Submitting claims and documentation to the Veterans Administration or TriWest to support prompt and correct reimbursement
  • Conducting timely telephone follow-up with payers regarding claim receipt and reimbursement status
  • Preparing initial bill packets or appeal letters and submitting them with the required documentation
  • Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications and requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2-4+ years of experience in healthcare billing or collections
  • 2+ years of client-facing or customer service experience
  • 1+ year of experience with VA billing and collections required
  • Experience with other complex claims is a plus
  • Intermediate understanding of insurance payer/provider claims processing and related data requirements
  • Intermediate understanding of government and veteran benefit programs
  • Strong computer proficiency, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and handle stress professionally
  • Regular and predictable attendance required
  • Must be able to remain stationary for 50% of the time and use standard office equipment consistently
