Director, Clinical Documentation Integrity Systems

Join AdventHealth Corporate Services as the Director of Clinical Documentation Integrity Systems. This role develops and executes the strategic vision for Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) across the organization, supports enterprise CDI operations, and partners with revenue cycle and coding leadership to improve documentation quality, compliance, and reimbursement outcomes.

Responsibilities include leading CDI software platform development and management, overseeing concurrent and retrospective review processes, facilitating provider education, managing quality and safety review processes, recommending staffing levels, analyzing KPIs, and implementing dashboards to measure program performance.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree preferred, preferably in business or a health-related field

Experience

  • 10+ years of demonstrated leadership experience, including at least 5 years in clinical documentation leadership
  • 5+ years of experience as a clinical documentation specialist in the acute care setting
  • Experience in acute care clinical coding preferred
  • Leadership experience or involvement in professional organizations such as the Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) required
  • Change Management Certification (PROSCI) preferred
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred

Knowledge and Skills

  • Expertise in clinical documentation and coding standards
  • Clinical experience and expertise as a licensed healthcare provider
  • Knowledge of clinical quality, safety standards, and reporting
  • Understanding of hospital reimbursement models and trends
  • Familiarity with analytics in the clinical documentation field
  • Knowledge of electronic health records
  • Strong communication, public speaking, presentation, and leadership skills
