This role supports the Coding team at Garnet Health Medical Center and is responsible for the oversight, analysis, and management of coding and DRG denial data across the health system. The analyst manually collects, organizes, and analyzes denial data, prepares reports, identifies denial trends, and helps reduce future denials. The position works closely with coding, CDI, revenue cycle, and clinical teams to resolve denials, support appeals, and maintain data integrity in line with regulatory and organizational standards.
The position is primarily sedentary and involves long periods of computer-based work. If operationally necessary, a remote or hybrid remote position may require reporting on-site.
- AAS in business, information management, or a health-related field preferred; relevant work experience may substitute.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Detail-oriented with strong data management skills.
- General business or medical office experience preferred.
- Medical claims payment and processing experience preferred.
- Familiarity with insurance and medical terminology preferred.
- Experience with Midas and EPIC desired.
- Ability to work collaboratively and handle multiple priorities.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Ability to maintain focus in an environment with interruptions.
- Visual, aural, and manual dexterity sufficient for computer and office equipment use.
