As the Region Manager for Revenue Cycle Coding-CDI, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for medical coding and Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) teams across CommonSpirit Health.
You will drive revenue cycle optimization, support coding accuracy, ensure regulatory compliance, and help achieve enterprise KPIs. This role partners closely with physicians, clinical quality teams, patient financial services, and executive leadership to improve reimbursement accuracy, data quality, and operational performance.
You will also lead performance reporting, dashboard development, steering committee presentations, and department meetings while fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment.
Required
- Associate's degree in Nursing or Health Information Management (HIM)
- RHIA certification required; CDIP must be obtained within 90 days of hire, along with CCS
- 5+ years of recent management experience overseeing hospital-based coding and CDI teams, preferably in a large multi-facility organization
- Experience managing coding/CDI in a Level I/II trauma center or teaching hospital
- Knowledge of complex inpatient conditions and procedures such as cardiovascular, neurosurgery, orthopedics, obstetrics, and NICU
- Proficiency with encoder systems such as Optum eCAC and Solventum, and EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, and Meditech
- Strong understanding of coding guidelines, DRG methodologies, CDI best practices, healthcare compliance, and revenue cycle KPIs
- Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and leadership skills
- Ability to identify complex issues, interpret training/development needs, and work collaboratively across departments
