Optum, part of UnitedHealth Group, is seeking a Coding Supervisor to lead a coding team supporting inpatient, outpatient, professional, or specialty coding operations.
This role focuses on supervising day-to-day coding work, improving quality and compliance, supporting workflow efficiency, and partnering with billing, HIM, revenue integrity, and clinical teams to resolve documentation and reimbursement issues.
The position is remote within the U.S. and includes leadership responsibilities across coaching, auditing, training, reporting, and process improvement.
- High School Diploma or GED
- CPC coder certification with AHIMA and/or AAPC credentialing maintained annually
- 3+ years of medical coding experience in pro-fee coding
- 1+ years of supervisory or lead experience, or equivalent SME experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional ethics
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
