Certified Coder position at Phoebe North Campus in Albany, GA.
This role is responsible for reviewing medical records and assigning accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II codes and modifiers to support primary and multi-specialty billing. The coder also provides analysis and education on coding trends and payer policy changes to providers and staff.
The position includes reviewing claim denials related to coding issues, interpreting payer guidelines, and assisting insurance collectors with resolution to support proper reimbursement. Appeals support may be required when needed.
The role requires maintaining coding accuracy and productivity to ensure timely reimbursement and continuity of revenue flow.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Vocational/technical degree preferred
- Associate degree in Health Information Management preferred
Experience
- 2 to 3 years of diagnosis and CPT coding experience in a clinic, business office, revenue cycle environment, or equivalent combination preferred
- 2 to 3 years of broad knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- Coding certification required: CPC or CCS
- CPMA preferred
