The RCM Billing Supervisor for toxicology and molecular diagnostics is responsible for managing end-to-end billing operations for specialized laboratory services. This includes overseeing claim submissions, denial management, payer compliance, and team performance.
Key responsibilities include billing oversight for toxicology and molecular diagnostics, ensuring accurate charge capture and timely claim submission, monitoring clearinghouse rejections, and resolving coding or modifier issues. The role also includes leading and mentoring billing staff, developing SOPs for laboratory billing workflows, and conducting performance reviews.
Additional responsibilities include analyzing denial trends, overseeing accounts receivable follow-up, collaborating with payers and labs to resolve complex billing issues, ensuring compliance with CMS, CLIA, and payer-specific laboratory billing guidelines, and staying current on molecular diagnostics billing changes. The position also involves internal audits, KPI reporting, and recommending process improvements based on data trends.
Bachelor’s degree or appropriate accreditation in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in laboratory billing, including at least 2 years in toxicology or molecular diagnostics.
Prior supervisory experience in a healthcare billing environment.
Strong knowledge of CPT codes, including 80305-80307, G0480-G0483, and the 814xx series.
Familiarity with payer-specific rules for high-complexity laboratory testing.
Prior Xifin experience is preferred.
Proficiency in LIS, billing software, and clearinghouse platforms.
Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
