Patient Coordinator

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Patient Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients and help ensure a smooth experience from scheduling appointments to managing medical records. You will support efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and coordination between patients and healthcare providers.

This position offers an opportunity to contribute to quality patient care while developing skills in healthcare administration, billing, and office operations.

Requirements & Qualifications

Duties

  • Greet and check in patients in a warm, professional manner
  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
  • Answer and direct phone calls efficiently and courteously
  • Verify dental insurance benefits and eligibility
  • Explain treatment plans and financial arrangements to patients
  • Collect payments and manage patient accounts
  • Maintain accurate patient records in the practice management system
  • Coordinate communication between patients and clinical staff
  • Follow up on unscheduled treatment and outstanding balances
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of patient information
  • Assist with office administrative duties as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous dental or medical office experience preferred
  • Knowledge of dental terminology and insurance processes
  • Proficiency in dental practice management software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Open Dental
  • Strong attention to detail in managing records and maintaining accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with professionalism and empathy
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, providers, and insurance companies
