We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Medical Assistant to join a dynamic healthcare team in a behavioral health office. In this role, you will support patient care, clinical operations, and medical documentation to help ensure smooth and efficient clinic functioning.

This is a paid position offering an opportunity to grow your medical assisting skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Duties include:

  • Performing patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates
  • Assisting healthcare providers during examinations and procedures in dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or specialty clinics
  • Preparing patients for exams by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit
  • Conducting phlebotomy and administering medications under physician supervision when required
  • Managing electronic health records (EHR) and ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical histories, and treatment plans
  • Supporting medical office operations by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining medical records in compliance with privacy regulations
  • Assisting with basic pharmacology tasks such as medication reconciliation and understanding medication administration protocols
  • Taking and recording detailed notes for medical documentation, ICD coding for diagnoses, and proper handling of medical records
  • Supporting inpatient and outpatient settings across specialties including geriatrics, internal medicine, emergency medicine, and trauma centers
Requirements & Qualifications

Experience as a Medical Assistant with a strong background in medical office support and clinical procedures

Knowledge of behavioral health services, toxicology services, and lab services

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required

Additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus

Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management

Strong understanding of medical terminology, ICD coding, and pharmacology principles

Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse patient populations

Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced clinic or hospital settings while maintaining attention to detail
