At Cooper University Health Care, the Senior Charge Master Analyst supports revenue integrity and chargemaster maintenance to help ensure accurate revenue generation, reimbursement, and compliance.
This role works across coding, charge capture, billing, and workflow processes to identify issues, support corrective action, and improve hospital revenue cycle operations. The position also partners with Revenue Integrity and other departments to address charge edits, claim edits, denials, and chargemaster-related compliance concerns.
The role prepares reports, education materials, tip sheets, and communications for departments and leadership, and participates in audits and investigations related to charge capture and CDM issues.
Experience
- 5-7 years of healthcare experience
- Knowledge of hospital operations and payment systems
- Experience in Charge Description Master (CDM), coding, billing, or clinical areas preferred
Education
- Healthcare certification such as CPC, RHIT, or another clinical/healthcare certification
- College degree preferred; significant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Skills
- Understanding of CDM methodology and healthcare coding systems
- Familiarity with EMR, billing systems, and CDM tools such as Craneware or Code Correct
- Strong analytical, communication, and education/training skills
- Ability to review and prioritize regulatory bulletins and quarterly updates
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and analytical tools
