Xtensys Connected Health Solutions is a rapidly growing managed service provider delivering technology solutions to health systems nationwide. This role serves as the senior subject matter expert for medical coding audits, documentation integrity, compliance, and provider education across multiple specialties. The position leads complex audits, develops educational programs, mentors coding staff, monitors audit outcomes, and supports quality and compliance initiatives across the revenue cycle.
The work is fully remote, full-time, exempt, and follows standard business hours Monday through Friday.
Experience
- 5+ years of professional coding and auditing experience
- Experience with physician documentation requirements and reimbursement methodologies
- Experience presenting audit findings and providing provider education
- Prior lead, mentoring, trainer, or senior auditor experience preferred
Certifications and Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of approved coding education and training programs
- Active coding certification through AAPC, AHIMA, or equivalent organization, such as CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA
- CPMA and advanced specialty coding certifications preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
Technical and Professional Skills
- Expert knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, modifier usage, and E/M guidelines
- Strong understanding of revenue cycle operations and reimbursement processes
- Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and reporting tools
- Experience with Epic Professional Coding and Revenue Cycle systems preferred
- Strong reporting, dashboard development, and audit analytics capabilities
- Exceptional mentoring, coaching, and facilitation abilities
- Strong written communication and audit report-writing skills
- Ability to communicate complex coding and compliance concepts effectively
