Works under the direct supervision of the Outpatient Coding and Reimbursement Manager in Health Information Management. Assigns ICD-10-CM and CPT diagnosis and procedure codes for outpatient visits and ensures proper ASC/APC assignment. Promotes the UHS guest relations policy.
Schedule: Full-time, day shift.
Requirements & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Two years of outpatient coding experience required.
Valid certification from AAPC or AHIMA required and must be maintained.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements.
Microsoft Office experience preferred.
3M Encoding and Grouping Software preferred.
