BJC HealthCare is seeking a Clinical Documentation Coordinator to support health information management and audit activities. This role focuses on reviewing specialty audits, gathering charts for denials, reviewing documentation, and sending any additional documentation needed. The coordinator will compile charts in EPIC and work closely with medical records and clinical documentation teams.
The role is part of BJC HealthCare, one of the largest nonprofit health care organizations in the United States, serving patients across the greater St. Louis region, southern Illinois, and southeast Missouri.
Minimum requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Less than 2 years of experience
Preferred requirements
- Associate degree or trade school equivalent
- 2 to 5 years of experience
- Registered Health Info Tech certification
Role responsibilities
- Review and audit medical record documentation against federal and state regulatory compliance requirements
- Collect and compile data for regulatory survey action plans, hospital audit requirements, and requests for information
- Assist Clinical Documentation Specialists in ensuring the integrity of the medical record
- Maintain clinical documentation data to support timely reporting to regulatory teams, hospital leadership, and related groups
