Admitting Representative

Join NYU Langone Health as an Admitting Representative working Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

This role is responsible for accurately reviewing, obtaining, and recording patient demographic and financial information, and for providing clear, sensitive information to patients to support safe and efficient entry to care. The position also helps ensure that accurate data is available for subsequent patient encounters and hospital processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Register patients accurately and thoroughly
  • Verify patient identity and review information for completeness
  • Collect and confirm insurance and financial details
  • Explain hospital procedures, patient rights, and required forms
  • Collect patient payments at the time of service
  • Provide courteous, professional, and empathetic customer service
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, ethical standards, and departmental policies
  • Complete logs, records, and assigned tasks accurately and on time
Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1–2 years of related office or retail experience with direct customer contact and service, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Verbal and reading skills
  • Basic arithmetic skills
  • Basic computer familiarity
  • Good interpersonal skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1 year of healthcare registration or billing experience
  • College degree or coursework

The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and internal teams.
