Northside Hospital is seeking a Data Integrity MPI Specialist to support the integrity of the integrated electronic health record (EHR). This role focuses on maintaining the accuracy of the Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI), resolving duplicate and overlapping patient records, and supporting data correction workflows across systems.
The specialist monitors correction requests, performs record consolidation, works daily in the Cerner Match Queue, and collaborates with internal and external teams to ensure accurate patient identity management. The position also supports EHR migration planning, preparation, and testing for systems moving into Cerner or other applicable EHR platforms.
Key responsibilities include reviewing demographic and clinical documentation, identifying the correct patient record associations, coordinating MPI cleanup efforts, notifying downstream departments of required corrections, and compiling monthly statistics. The role also includes educating registration areas on duplicate record prevention and supporting workflow improvements within the Health Data Team.
Required
- Two years of experience in an acute care hospital, chart abstraction, regulatory review, medical records, or a quality department in a professional capacity
- Demonstrated experience with QCI concepts, tools, and techniques
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and similar tools
Preferred
- Master's degree preparation
- Three years of experience in an acute care medical record, quality department, or document scanning/imaging operation
