Join UPMC Magee-Women’s Hospital as a part-time Patient Care Technician - Specialist supporting the ICU.

This role works rotating shifts and requires rotating weekend and holiday availability. The position focuses on delivering high-quality patient care, assisting nurses and healthcare providers, and performing both routine and advanced patient care tasks in a hospital setting.

Requirements & Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

Must also have either:

2 years of general healthcare experience and meet the requirements of the Patient Care Technician - Senior title, or
1 year of experience plus enrollment in a PT/OT/PA program with at least one completed clinical rotation, or
1 year of experience plus completion of a bachelor’s degree in a health sciences field.

Additional requirements and preferences:

Successful completion of Patient Care Technician Specialist class
Successful completion of eRecord training
CPR required based on AHA standards within 30 days of hire
BLS/CPR required
ACLS preferred
Nursing student with one completed clinical rotation preferred
EMT or Paramedic, or currently enrolled in an EMT/Paramedic program, preferred
May require completion of the appropriate UPMC cardiac rhythm course
Annual completion of a professional contribution after hire
Act 34 clearance
