Responsible for all aspects of credentialing and re-credentialing of health care professionals. This role ensures providers are appropriately credentialed by organizing, maintaining, and verifying credentialing records and keeping current information on file in the credentialing database. The position works primarily independently while coordinating with other team members.
Key duties include processing credentialing and re-credentialing files, maintaining the credentialing database, preparing files for Credentialing Committee review, monitoring contracted providers, reviewing background screenings and records, generating reports and documents, and supporting audits, offboarding, and special projects. The role also helps ensure provider satisfaction and meets production goals set by management.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Minimum of 1 year of successful work experience in a credentialing or medical staff role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to take instruction from multiple sources and manage deliverables accordingly
- Strong judgment, critical thinking, prioritization, and time management skills
- Ability to maintain quality and production expectations
- Comfortable handling difficult conversations professionally in person and by phone
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Excellent customer service and follow-through
- Ability to work overtime
- Prior Salesforce experience is a plus
