Health Information Specialist II

This full-time role is onsite in Pensacola, Florida, and works Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM EST. The position involves high-volume processing of medical record requests, answering calls from patients, insurance companies, and attorneys, and documenting information across multiple systems.

Key responsibilities include handling patient health information requests, maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance, managing patient records, preparing and organizing medical charts, creating digital images for electronic medical records, responding to internal and external records requests, assisting with walk-ins and administrative tasks, generating reports, supporting project teams, and helping train new associates. The role also requires consistent productivity in a fast-paced production environment.

Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 1 year of health information-related experience
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Detail-oriented and quality-focused with medical records
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organization and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work overtime during peak seasons when required
  • Ability to commute between locations as needed

Preferred experience

  • Previous production- or metric-based work experience
  • In-person customer service experience
  • Ability to build relationships with onsite clients and customers
  • Interest in process improvement and sharing feedback
