The Medical Receptionist, also titled Patient Services Coordinator, supports a busy vein and vascular care clinic by welcoming patients, managing check-in, collecting insurance information, processing payments, and helping coordinate appointments.
Responsibilities include:
- Greet patients upon arrival and check them in.
- Collect insurance information and other required patient data.
- Provide intake forms, new patient paperwork, and required office policies/documents.
- Process co-pays and payments for uninsured visits.
- Schedule new and returning patient appointments.
- Maintain paper records and electronic files in the EMR system.
- Audit schedules to help ensure insurance eligibility.
- Provide patient support and guidance as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of protected health information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
Required and preferred qualifications include:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in a medical setting in customer service.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Familiarity with eCW is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and desktop publishing software.
