Join Good Samaritan as a Supervisor of Health Information Management for a long-term care senior living location.
This role provides leadership for HIM operations, including supervision of day-to-day workflow, staffing adjustments, staff delegation, and technical guidance. The position supports medical record integrity, privacy compliance, documentation management, and coding-related processes that help ensure accurate billing and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities include overseeing admission and discharge processes, managing scanned forms and medical record filing systems, auditing records for accuracy and completeness, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA, state laws, and federal regulations. The supervisor also provides orientation, training, and ongoing education to HIM staff.

- Insurance knowledge, including Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplemental, and Medicare Managed Care

- Ability to anticipate policy or system changes and implement new processes
- Strong customer service skills with families, insurance companies, physicians, and schedulers
- Knowledge of physician scheduling and CMS rules
- Excel knowledge
Education and experience
- Associate degree in Health Information Management/Technology required, or the equivalent of two years of HIM experience in lieu of education
- Previous HIM experience preferred
- Long-term care, acute hospital, or clinic experience preferred
- Leadership skills and ability to work within a team of healthcare professionals
- RHIT or RHIA preferred
