Position Summary

Under direct supervision by department leadership, this role performs phlebotomy collection of whole blood and apheresis products. The position is responsible for delivering an excellent donor experience through warm, professional, service-oriented interactions while contributing positively to team objectives and a collaborative workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Perform donor screening, including donor history collection, mini-physical, and phlebotomy
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to donor questions, requests, and complaints
  • May perform automation duties, including Alyx and/or Trima
  • Promote a positive team culture through teamwork, respectful communication, and collaboration
  • Maintain product integrity and proper donor identification
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and complete department records
  • Observe donors for reactions and provide reaction care as needed
  • Rebook donors for future donation appointments
  • Follow all applicable regulatory, compliance, and standard operating requirements
Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Less than 1 year of job-related experience preferred
  • 1-3 years of relevant people-facing experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of standardized work routines and methods, simple equipment, machines, and materials
  • Ability to read and interpret SOPs, safety rules, operating instructions, and department manuals
  • Basic mathematical aptitude and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Ability to organize work for productive workflow
  • Ability to provide a positive donor experience through empathetic, donor-centric service
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to receive and provide feedback respectfully
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to learn and use computer applications required for the role
