1. Indications

2. Procedure

The procedure for applying a body cast from shoulder to hips, including one thigh, involves several detailed steps to ensure proper immobilization and support. The steps are as follows:

• Preparation of the area - The skin over the area to be casted is cleaned and assessed for any injuries or conditions that may affect the casting process. A stockinette is then applied to protect the skin from irritation caused by the casting material.
• Padding application - After the stockinette is in place, padding is added over the stockinette. This padding serves to cushion the skin and provide comfort, as well as to help mold the cast to the body shape.
