The DBQ Reviewer collaborates with medical professionals to ensure the completeness and accuracy of complex medical documentation and examination processes, confirming that veterans are properly examined and that reports adhere to VA standards.
Key responsibilities include reviewing complex medical exam reports for accuracy and adherence to guidelines, documenting and escalating quality issues, interacting with healthcare providers to provide feedback and assist with report revisions, managing complex cases, meeting productivity and quality targets, staying updated on SOPs and policies, and performing additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree preferred, minimum 1 year medical field experience as a scribe, medic, medical assistant, biller/coder or relevant quality analyst experience in healthcare, or at least 6 months of experience performing QA reviews of DBQs per VA/MDE requirements.
Skills required include deep knowledge of medical terminology and quality assurance, strong communication, computer proficiency, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
This is a remote, full-time position with mandatory initial training via Zoom requiring professional attire and continuous on-camera participation during the training period.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year experience in the medical field as a Scribe, Military Corpsman/Medic, Certified Medical Assistant, biller/coder, OR
- Minimum 1 year of relevant professional experience as a Quality Analyst in a healthcare setting, OR
- At least 6 months of experience conducting QA reviews of DBQs according to VA and MDE requirements
- Deep knowledge of medical terminology, medical conditions, and quality assurance methodologies
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft tools
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
