The DBQ Reviewer collaborates with medical professionals to support the completeness and accuracy of complex medical documentation and examination processes for veterans. Responsibilities include reviewing medical exam reports for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to VA guidelines; documenting quality issues and escalating as needed; working with healthcare providers to revise medical exam reports; handling complex cases; meeting productivity and quality targets; and adhering to policies and procedures.
Work hours are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5:30 PM EST. The first 6 weeks include mandatory remote training with daily on-screen participation and professional attire.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree preferred (high school diploma or equivalent required), and experience of at least 1 year in the medical field as a scribe, medic, certified medical assistant, biller/coder, or relevant quality analyst experience in healthcare. Skills needed are deep knowledge of medical terminology and quality assurance, strong communication, computer proficiency, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum 1 year experience in medical field roles such as Scribe, Military Corpsman/Medic, Certified Medical Assistant, or biller/coder; OR
- Minimum 1 year of relevant professional experience as a Quality Analyst in a healthcare setting; OR
- At least 6 months conducting QA reviews of DBQs according to VA and MDE requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical conditions, and quality assurance methodologies.
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain productivity and quality in a fast-paced environment.
