The DBQ Reviewer will collaborate with medical professionals to support the completeness and accuracy of complex medical documentation and examination processes. They confirm that veterans have been examined for all medical issues listed, medical providers have used the appropriate reporting forms, and documentation meets established standards.
Responsibilities include reviewing complex medical exam reports for completeness, accuracy, and VA guideline adherence, documenting quality issues and escalating them as needed, working with healthcare providers to provide feedback and assist in report revisions, handling complex cases, meeting productivity and quality targets as per internal audits, and staying up to date with SOPs and policies.
Training is mandatory for the first 6 weeks, conducted via Zoom Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5:30 PM EST, requiring camera-on participation and professional attire.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year medical field experience (Scribe, Corpsman/Medic, CMA, biller/coder), or 1 year quality analyst experience in healthcare, or 6 months QA review in DBQs (VA/MDE requirements)
- Deep knowledge of medical terminology and quality assurance methods
- Strong communication and computer skills
- Analytical, problem-solving skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year medical experience (Scribe, Corpsman/Medic, CMA, biller/coder) OR 1 year healthcare QA analyst experience OR 6 months DBQ QA review experience
