The DBQ Reviewer I role involves collaborating with medical professionals to ensure the completeness and accuracy of complex medical documentation and examination reports. The reviewer confirms that the veteran has been examined for all medical issues listed, verifies medical providers use the proper reporting forms, and ensures documentation meets established standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing complex medical exam reports for completeness and accuracy according to VA guidelines
- Documenting quality issues and escalating them to management when needed
- Providing feedback to healthcare providers to assist with report revisions
- Handling complex case reviews
- Meeting productivity and quality targets as per internal audits
- Staying current on SOPs and policies
- Performing other assigned duties
The position includes a mandatory 6-week full-time training period conducted remotely via Zoom.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year medical experience as Scribe, Military Corpsman/Medic, Certified Medical Assistant, biller/coder; or 1 year healthcare Quality Analyst experience; or 6 months QA review experience of DBQs per VA/MDE standards
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical conditions, and quality assurance methods

Requirements & Qualifications
