The DBQ Reviewer I position involves collaborating with medical professionals to ensure the completeness and accuracy of complex medical documentation and examinations, particularly related to veterans' medical reports. Responsibilities include reviewing medical reports for accuracy and adherence to VA guidelines, identifying and escalating quality issues, working closely with healthcare providers to revise reports, handling complex case reviews, meeting productivity and quality targets, and adhering to SOPs and policies.
This is a fully remote, full-time position operating during 9 AM to 5:30 PM EST, Monday through Friday, with an initial 6-week mandatory remote training period requiring daily on-screen participation and professional conduct.
Candidates should have at least 1 year of experience in a medical-related role such as Scribe, Military Corpsman/Medic, Certified Medical Assistant, or biller/coder; or at least 1 year as a Quality Analyst in a healthcare setting; alternatively, 6 months conducting QA reviews of DBQs according to VA and MDE requirements.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and quality assurance methodologies, excellent communication, computer proficiency (especially Microsoft tools), analytical skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are required.
- Minimum 1 year experience in the medical field (e.g., Scribe, Military Corpsman/Medic, Certified Medical Assistant, biller/coder) OR
- Minimum 1 year professional experience as a Quality Analyst in healthcare OR
- At least 6 months experience conducting QA reviews of DBQs per VA/MDE requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required
