Work hours are Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5:30 PM EST, with an initial mandatory 6-week training conducted via Zoom requiring daily live participation and professional attire.
The DBQ Reviewer collaborates with medical professionals to ensure the completeness and accuracy of complex medical documentation and examinations, confirming veterans have been properly examined for all issues, appropriate reporting forms are used, and documentation meets established standards.
Key responsibilities include reviewing medical exam reports for accuracy and adherence to VA guidelines, documenting and escalating quality issues, working with providers to improve reports, handling complex cases, meeting productivity and quality targets, adhering to SOPs and policies, and performing additional delegated tasks.
Educational qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum 1 year in medical field roles such as Scribe, Military Corpsman/Medic, Certified Medical Assistant, biller/coder; OR minimum 1 year as Quality Analyst in healthcare; OR at least 6 months conducting QA reviews of DBQs per VA and MDE requirements.
Skills: Strong medical terminology, quality assurance knowledge, excellent communication, computer proficiency (Microsoft tools), strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
