The DBQ Reviewer will collaborate with medical professionals to ensure completeness and accuracy of complex medical documentation and examination processes, confirming veterans have been examined for all medical issues listed and that documentation meets established standards.
Responsibilities include reviewing complex medical exam reports for completeness and VA guideline adherence, documenting quality issues and escalating when necessary, working with healthcare providers to provide feedback and assist with report revisions, handling complex cases, meeting productivity and quality targets, adhering to policies, and performing additional tasks as assigned.
The role requires a mandatory 6-week remote training conducted via Zoom, with strict attendance and professional environment requirements.
Preferred education includes a bachelor's degree; a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience required includes at least 1 year in a medical field role such as Scribe, Military Corpsman/Medic, Certified Medical Assistant, biller/coder; or relevant professional experience as a Quality Analyst in healthcare; or at least 6 months conducting QA reviews of DBQs per VA and MDE requirements.
Skills needed: deep knowledge of medical terminology and quality assurance methodologies, strong communication and computer skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
