The DBQ Reviewer will collaborate with medical professionals to support the completeness and accuracy of complex medical documentation and examination processes. They will confirm that the veteran has been examined for all medical issues listed, the medical provider has utilized the appropriate reporting form, and documentation is completed in accordance with established standards.
Responsibilities include reviewing complex medical exam reports for completeness and adherence to VA guidelines, identifying and documenting quality issues, working with healthcare providers to deliver feedback and assist with revising medical exam reports, handling complex cases, meeting individual productivity targets with high quality, and adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies.
The position involves a 6-week mandatory training period conducted remotely via Zoom. Professional attire and on-camera participation during training are required.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, with a bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience requirements include at least 1 year in the medical field as a Scribe, Military Corpsman/Medic, Certified Medical Assistant, biller/coder, or a minimum of 1 year relevant professional experience as a Quality Analyst in healthcare, or at least 6 months experience conducting QA reviews of DBQs per VA and MDE requirements.
Skills required include deep knowledge of medical terminology, medical conditions, quality assurance methodologies, strong communication skills, proficiency with computers (Microsoft tools), excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
