The DBQ Reviewer will collaborate with medical professionals to support the completeness and accuracy of complex medical documentation and examination processes. They will confirm that the veteran has been examined for all medical issues listed, the medical provider has utilized the appropriate reporting form, and documentation is completed in accordance with established standards.
Work hours are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5:30 PM EST. The first 6 weeks include mandatory remote training via Zoom, requiring daily on-screen participation with professional attire and no background distractions.
Key responsibilities include reviewing complex medical exam reports for completeness, adhering to VA guidelines, documenting and escalating quality issues, working with healthcare providers to provide feedback, handling complex cases, meeting productivity and quality targets, staying updated on policies, and performing additional tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year experience in medical field (e.g., scribe, military corpsman/medic, certified medical assistant, biller/coder) OR 1 year in healthcare quality analyst roles OR 6 months QA review experience of DBQs according to VA and MDE requirements
- Deep knowledge of medical terminology, medical conditions, quality assurance methodologies
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft tools
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
