Men's Health Foundation seeks a Medical Billing Specialist - Payment Poster responsible for accurately posting and reconciling payments from insurance carriers, patients, and third-party payers. This role involves using electronic remittance advice (ERA) and manual explanation of benefits (EOBs) and requires knowledge of multiple insurance classes such as Medicare and Medi-Cal. The position demands attention to detail, ability to handle high-volume environments, and compliance with HIPAA and payer guidelines.
Responsibilities include posting payments, applying adjustments and write-offs, interpreting EOBs, reconciling payment batches, balancing payments against deposits and system reports, reporting variances, maintaining documentation, collaborating with billing teams, and assisting with audits.
Candidates must have 2-3 years of medical payment posting experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, proficiency with billing systems and Microsoft Excel, and an understanding of insurance types and payer adjustment codes.
The role requires strong organizational, analytical, communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.

- Minimum 2-3 years experience in medical payment posting
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Hands-on experience with electronic (ERA) and manual (EOB) payment processing
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, Commercial, and Managed Care insurance plans
- Ability to interpret EOBs, denial codes, and payer adjustments accurately
- Proficiency in medical billing systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle high-volume workloads and meet productivity standards
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Maintain patient and financial information confidentiality
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance
Preferred:
