The Payment Poster is responsible for processing all payments and adjustments received to the business office timely and accurately. Duties include correcting auto payment posting errors, balancing posted payments daily, submitting required paperwork, working credit reports and unapplied balance reports, ensuring confidentiality of patient accounts according to HIPAA guidelines, and adhering to CMS and other payor compliance requirements. The role requires daily communication with management on payor trends and any other tasks assigned by the Billing Manager and Director of Operations.
Preferred qualifications include a minimum of two years' medical insurance payment posting experience, proficiency in insurance denials, experience applying cash, check, credit card, EOB, EFT, reconciling batches daily, working zero pay claims, assisting in secondary claim submissions, benefit verifications, and patient and claims accounts receivable. Additional skills needed are strong computer ability including web browsing, Excel, EMR software, excellent communication and teamwork skills, understanding of HIPAA regulations, attention to detail, and knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding and medical terminology.
Work Location: In person in Johnson City, TN.
