We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Revenue Cycle Specialist I who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and supporting efficient billing processes while contributing to positive patient and team experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Work proficiently within assigned revenue cycle functions
- Track missing documentation and ensure timely follow-up with providers, staff, and insurance companies
- Maintain assigned productivity standards
- Support the Revenue Cycle Team Lead as needed
- Prepare, review, and maintain reports and tracking tools (e.g., AR reports, posting ledgers, holding tanks)
- Provide feedback to providers, clinical staff, and operations teams
- Collaborate across departments to support communication and workflow efficiency
- Answer patient calls and assist with billing-related inquiries
- Contact insurance companies to resolve denials and other issues
- Maintain billing for non-insurance contracts
- Provide cross-coverage support for other revenue cycle teams as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; 1–2 years of medical billing experience preferred
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Teams; experience with systems like NextGen (electronic health records) preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work collaboratively and maintain productivity standards
- Positive attitude and alignment with Valley-Wide’s mission
Location & Type of Job: This is a full-time, onsite position based in Alamosa, Colorado.
