Lead Revenue Cycle Specialist

GI Associates LLC

At GI Associates, you will join a nationally recognized independent gastroenterology practice focused on delivering compassionate, collaborative care to patients in Southeast Wisconsin. This role plays a pivotal part in leading and managing the revenue cycle team to ensure timely and accurate billing and accounts receivable operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing daily revenue cycle workflows and managing work queues to meet performance targets
  • Providing operational leadership including staff scheduling and coverage
  • Serving as first-level escalation contact for complex billing issues and payer disputes
  • Managing claims submissions, resolving billing discrepancies, and monitoring Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) dashboards
  • Monitoring team productivity and quality metrics, providing coaching and conducting performance audits
  • Driving process improvements and compliance with payer policies and regulations
  • Mentoring and developing team members with ongoing training and evaluation
  • Collaborating across departments to address systemic revenue cycle challenges

The position offers a hybrid or onsite work location based on business needs and includes comprehensive benefits with no weekend or holiday work.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or billing and coding preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive revenue cycle operations experience
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare billing, claims processing, denial management, and payer requirements
  • Prior leadership or senior subject matter expert experience
  • Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Proficiency with EHR/practice management systems
