Dental Hygienist (Temporary)

San Marcos Gentle Dental is a well-established general dentistry practice located in San Marcos, Texas, committed to providing exceptional patient care with modern, advanced technology including digital X-rays, CT scans, panoramic imaging, and intraoral technology.

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Temporary Dental Hygienist to join our team, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to comprehensive patient care within a supportive and innovative dental practice.

Responsibilities include performing dental prophylaxis such as cleaning teeth, scaling, and polishing; conducting patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and vital signs; assisting with patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care; maintaining accurate and detailed documentation of patient records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix; following infection control protocols including aseptic techniques and sterilization; and reviewing medical records for accuracy, completeness, and HIPAA compliance.

Experience required includes prior clinical or dental office work as a dental hygienist, familiarity with dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review, proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, knowledge of infection control standards, anatomy, medical terminology, and strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a dental hygienist in clinical or dental office settings.
  • Familiarity with dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review.

  • Understanding of anatomy and medical terminology.
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
