Optometrist

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Optometrist to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough eye examinations, including visual acuity tests, refraction assessments, and ocular health evaluations
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and ocular infections
• Prescribe corrective lenses and recommend appropriate treatment options tailored to each patient’s needs
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and proper use of corrective devices
• Collaborate with ophthalmology specialists for complex cases requiring advanced intervention or surgical referral
• Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques during examinations and procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment
• Stay updated on the latest developments in ophthalmology, physiology knowledge, and medical terminology to provide cutting-edge care

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of ophthalmology practices, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
• Proven experience with optical equipment and understanding of optical principles for vision correction
• Ability to effectively communicate complex medical information with patients of all ages, including pediatrics
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient documentation and record keeping
• Excellent patient care skills combined with a compassionate approach to customer service
• Knowledge of medical coding procedures relevant to eye care services for billing accuracy
• Ability to perform vital signs assessment and apply aseptic techniques during examinations
