Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort.
Take and develop medical images such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in electronic medical record (EMR) systems (Open Dental).
Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed by practicing proper sterilization, handling medical waste appropriately, and maintaining a sterile environment.
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification.
Experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry.
Proficiency with EMR systems such as Open Dental for documentation and record-keeping.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and HIPAA regulations.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while demonstrating excellent patient care skills.
Familiarity with vital signs monitoring, medical imaging techniques, and medical coding practices related to dental records.
Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
