Revenue Cycle Supervisor

Orthopaedic Institute for Children

The Revenue Cycle Supervisor oversees daily operations in billing, collections, charge capture, and denial management within an orthopedic outpatient environment, ensuring financial performance, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency supporting Epic Professional Billing (PB) workflows.

Responsibilities include leading revenue cycle staff, monitoring KPIs such as AR days and denial rates, managing claim submissions and follow-ups, overseeing revenue integrity and coding with focus on outpatient orthopedic coding (CPT, modifiers, ICD-10), conducting root cause analyses for denials, optimizing workflows in Epic PB, and collaborating across clinical and administrative teams.

Candidates should have strong leadership skills, 3+ years supervisory revenue cycle experience, proficiency in Epic PB, and a solid understanding of orthopedic outpatient revenue cycle operations and coding fundamentals.

The role requires excellent communication, continuous improvement mindset, and familiarity with managed care workflows in orthopedic or specialty clinics. Physical demands include intermittent walking, standing, bending, and verbal communication in an office setting.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Experience with Epic Professional Billing (PB) - required
  • Orthopedic outpatient revenue cycle experience - required
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory or management experience in revenue cycle
  • Knowledge of outpatient coding (CPT, modifiers, ICD-10 basics)
  • Understanding of revenue integrity principles
  • Experience in denial management and accounts receivable follow-up
  • Strong grasp of end-to-end revenue cycle workflows
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience in high-volume outpatient orthopedic or specialty clinics
  • Familiarity with DME, implants, and 'by report' billing
  • Managed care payer workflows knowledge (Medicaid, Medicare, Commercial)
  • Experience with Epic reporting tools like Work queues and Reporting Workbench
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field
